New Lab Tools Drive Advances in Biotechnology Research
Over the past 20 years, biotech research has seen its ups and downs as venture capital has followed economic cycles triggering massive investments and hiring, followed inevitably by reduced investments because of competing technologies, failures to fully understand the complexity of the process and an inability to get to market quickly with qualified products. In the past few years alone, the environment has changed and—even through an economic downturn—biotech investments continue to increase, bolstered by the development of new technologies, tools and enhanced knowledge.
